Promote

Promotion is all about supporting employees in the early stages of ill-health, workplace need to actively and continually reduce the stigma around mental health.

We provide practical, workplace-focused support through workshops, work-related counselling, critical incident debriefs, and consultancy/advice — helping local governments create healthier, safer, and more responsive work environments.

Our workshop program is designed to strengthen awareness, confidence, and practical skills across all levels of local governments. Each session is focused on real workplace issues and gives participants practical strategies they can apply immediately.

Mental health awareness workshop (2.5hr)

This workshop aims to build understanding of mental health in the workplace and support early intervention. Participants learn to recognise common signs of distress, respond appropriately, and have supportive conversations that reduce stigma and encourage help-seeking.

Mentally healthy workplace (3hr)

This workshop provides an opportunity to explore the Promote, Prevent, Intervene, and Support Recovery model in relation to driving a mentally health workplace.

Managing difficult behaviours

Equipment workers and leaders with practical techniques to respond to challenging behaviours professionally and constructively. This workshop explores de-escalation, respectful communication, boundary setting, and managing difficult interactions with confidence.

Leadership Program

Our Leadership Program is a three-session program designed to equip leaders with the knowledge, confidence, and practical skills to create psychologically safer workplaces.

  • Session 1: Online Mental Health Awareness (2 hours)
An introductory online session focused on building leaders' understanding of mental health in the workplace, recognising signs of distress, and supporting early, appropriate conversations.
  • Session 2: Prevention (full day — 6.5 hours)
A practical session focused on prevention strategies, including leadership behaviours, workplace culture, psychosocial risk awareness, and proactive steps leaders can take to reduce the likelihood of psychological harm.
  • Session 3: Intervention (full day — 6.5 hours)
A hands-on session focused on intervention — helping leaders respond effectively when issues arise, manage challenging situations, support workers appropriately, and take practical action to address workplace concerns.

Together, these sessions support leaders to respond with empathy, confidence and accountability while strengthening team wellbeing and organisational capability
