Thanks to all of the LGIS members who have activated their new login for the LGIS website.

For those of you who haven't, please make sure you have activated the multi-factor authentication security tool Okta on the LGIS website (member centre). You should have all received an email with an activation link that expires in seven days from when it was sent. That means if you haven't already done so, you have until next Monday (20 April 2020) to activate your account.

Activation FAQ

Here are the answers to common questions we've had from the members who have already activated their OKTA sign on.

1.     Is this legitimate? Is this from LGIS? Can I safely click on the links provided? 

Yes, it's a legitimate email from LGIS. You can safely click on the link to activate your member login for the LGIS website.

2.     I deleted the email

We'll arrange for our IT team to reissue your activation code.

3.     Who is Marsh?

Marsh is a multinational risk financing and management company. LGIS is managed by JLT Public Sector which is part of the Marsh group of companies.

4.     What is this for? I have my login already

The LGIS website has now transitioned to multi factor authentication to further secure your local governments information. You will need to activate your new OKTA login as your previous login will no longer work.

5.     I am not receiving my Okta emails

Please check your spam email folder. If you still don't receive the email please talk to your IT department, your systems might be filtering out the emails from OKTA. Your IT team will need to update the email filter to allow emails from marsh.okta.com

6.     This is in my predecessor name and we use the same email

We can make this change. Please contact Anne Clarke at LGIS at anne.clarke@lgiswa.com.au

7.     Can you add me to the website?

Yes you can be added to the LGIS website, please go to www.lgiswa.com.au and click the 'Create Account' button in the top right hand corner to log the request.

8.     This person no longer works for the Shire please add the new person

LGIS will deactivate the previous employee and add the new employee (you) under their email address. Please note that you can't share the same link

9.  My password is not working. What is the password criteria?

click on the 'Activate' link again received in the email and set the password as per the instructions.

Password example - Marsh123 which does not include my name or my last password is eight characters long, contains one capital letter, smalls and numbers.

What to do once you receive your activation email?

Activation steps:

1. Select activation link within your Okta activation email
2. Enter and confirm new password (Please ensure you remember this password as you will require it for subsequent login)
3. Select the LGIS website portal link within the Okta dashboard.
4. Send a verification code via email
5. Enter the verification code received in your email
6. Redirection to the LGIS Portal

Subsequent login steps:

1. Enter your email address into the Marsh Okta Sign In
2. Enter password you created at activation
3. Send a verification code via email
4. Enter the verification code received in your email
5. Redirection to LGIS portal

Forgot password steps:

1. Enter your email address into the Marsh Okta sign in
2. Select "Need Help Signing In?"
3.  Select "Forgot Password"
4. Enter email address in reset password
5. Select reset via email
6. Check email and select reset password link in email
7. Enter and repeat to new password
8. Select the LGIS portal link within the Okta dashboard
9. Send a verification code via email
10. Enter the verification code received in your email
11. Redirection to LGIS website

What if you're missing your activation email?

If you haven't received your Okta activation email, please email anne.clarke@lgiswa.com.au and we will arrange for an activation email to be reissued to you.
