Each year, Royal Life Saving WA honours individuals and organisations advancing drowning prevention and water safety. The 2025 Royal Life Saving Bravery Awards, held on Friday, 17 October, celebrated 90 Western Australians for their heroic lifesaving actions during 26 emergency situations across the state.
Families, friends, and community members gathered at the State Reception Centre in Kings Park to recognize these courageous acts. This year alongside members of the public, there were several local government aquatic staff up for nomination representing:
- City of Canning
- City of Mandurah
- Shire of Augusta-Margaret River
- City of Stirling
- Town of Victoria Park
- City of Gosnells
- City of Swan
As a proud partner of Royal Life Saving WA, LGIS commend these local heroes and the exceptional work they undertake every day to keep our communities safe. We wish to reiterate the importance of careful aquatic risk management and we strongly recommend all members read the full article where you can discover the individual stories of our winners
