How will you use your health and wellbeing funding?
LGIS is committed to fostering healthy, safe, and resilient workplaces for all our members. Our health and wellbeing services are a valued part of the Scheme, designed to improve staff health, enhance safety and mitigate workers' compensation claims.
LGIS drive a holistic approach to prevention and wellbeing. Our program provides innovative benefits through three service areas – preventative screening, lifestyle and behavioural, and health education and awareness.
Each year, members receive a dedicated funding allocation to access these valuable services, empowering staff to make positive health choices.

Shire of Katanning
With support from LGIS's wellbeing allocation, the Shire organised a six-week staff wellness program featuring yoga classes led by an expert instructor. Held every Friday morning at 6:00 am, the sessions quickly became a highlight for staff, with feedback from participants being overwhelmingly positive.
Staff shared that the yoga classes made their days feel more complete, motivated them to continue early morning walks, and helped improve their mental and physical wellbeing. Many appreciated that the sessions set a positive tone for the day ahead, fostering a profound sense of personal wellness.
City of Rockingham
On the 10 September, the City ran an expo to highlight a range of wellbeing topics and services available to their staff. This included LGIS preferred providers who offered basic screening and awareness information, such as exercise advice, skin screening, health checks and nutrition tips. Additionally, the City engaged the LGIS injury prevention team to focus on reducing risks of musculoskeletal injury in the workplace, as well as a number of local providers to highlight some available health services and resources within the City.
“Here at the City of Rockingham, we take great pride in supporting the mental, physical, and overall wellbeing of our employees. This year's expo brought together such a diverse and vibrant group of providers, and we couldn't have asked for a better representation of what overall healthy wellbeing looks like."
Thank you to the Shire of Katanning and City of Rockingham for sharing their inspiring stories. We look forward to supporting more councils in creating positive, health-focused workplace environments. For more information, please contact our LGIS WorkCare Services manager at health@lgiswa.com.au.
