Commencing on 1 September 2025, this statewide challenge encourages local government staff to get moving in fun and simple ways. Whether it's taking a leisurely walk, performing gardening duties, or even taking the stairs instead of the lift, every bit of activity counts towards improving health and fostering team spirit.

Last year, over 40 local governments participated, with nearly 700 active participants covering a combined distance of over 211,000 km across WA. The challenge is designed to be inclusive - you don't need to be a seasoned athlete to join.

The Great West Aussie Adventure is a fantastic opportunity to promote team building and friendly competition within your organisation, all in the name of raising awareness and improving your health and wellbeing.

Participation is easy - all staff are encouraged to register before the challenge opens in September. You can log any activity into the online portal, which tracks your progress on a virtual map of WA – this year we are doing the famous Bibbulman Track! Whether you're walking, running, or gardening, your efforts will contribute to your team's overall distance and success. With glory on the line, prizes will be awarded to winners so be sure to take part for your chance to win.

So, get ready to step up, have fun, and make a positive impact on your health and your team's spirit this September!
