Over the coming editions of E News, we'll be running this segment so you can learn more about our team and how they can assist you.

What is your role?

I'm an Account Manager at LGIS, servicing members from the Perth Metro area, the Goldfields region, Kimberley region, and Pilbara region.

How long have you been working at LGIS and what's your professional background?

I joined LGIS ~6-months ago; however, I've previously worked for JLT/Marsh as an Account Broker for ~7 years. Professionally, I've worked in the insurance/indemnity industry for ~14 years, and I have a strong background in claims, insurance broking, department management, client relationship management, and account management.

What are the common questions you get from members?

I regularly answer member requests for risk reviews; general advice surrounding indemnity clauses contained within local government contracts. Cyber security is a hot topic so there's plenty of queries around the coverage provided under LGIS's commercial crime and cyber policy, as well as queries relating to liability coverage across multiple arms of local government business activities.

What is the one service that you would like to see members use more of?

It's a tough one to pick! If I had to choose it would be more risk management site inspection/reporting services for their newly constructed sites/facilities/open air spaces (e.g. bike paths, skate parks, etc.), as well as Work Health and Safety (WHS) risk reviews to ensure safe working environments for staff, contractors, and volunteers to reduce the risk of fines and penalties that can be imposed under the WHS Act.

What's one thing that you like about working at LGIS?

I enjoy working with a dynamic team of industry specialists and supporting our members. Our service, providing tailored general advice and guidance to assist members reduce their risk of incidents, as well as support them through the claims process is pretty unique.
