In the next few weeks renewal surveys for 2023/24 LGIS membership will be released. We request that all members complete their declarations by 31 March, ensuring that information is correct and up-to-date.
Accurate information about your organisation and business operations remains vital as the reinsurance markets remain hard and we work to negotiate the best terms to mitigate coverage restrictions and increases in contributions.
Following last year's feedback, we've moved the JLT Renewal Portal to the iRIS platform. The user experience has been improved, and 2023/24 is year one of several changes scheduled to continuously improve your user experience. A key benefit of the new system is that multiple authorised users can access questionnaires and you will be able to see data in real time. It also has greater load capacity and is a more stable platform, ensuring that your data is continuously saved.
Now is the time to start collating your information, so that you can complete and submit your declarations by Friday 31 March.
To assist you in your preparations our Account Managers will be distributing motor and property registers. Please review these prior to uploading to the portal.
It's vital that you pay attention to values on both registers.
Inflationary factors such as changes in construction costs, increase in labour charges, supply issues and increased equipment costs all have a material impact on the values that are required to be declared. From a Scheme perspective in the past year we have seen a spike in under‑valuations which impacts claims management and capacity to reinstate or repair claimed assets or vehicles.
You must consider the actual cost (refer to our protection policy wording) of the following:
- A building the rebuilding thereof or in the case of property other than a building, the replacement thereof by similar property in either case in a condition equal to, but not better or more extensive than, its condition when new.
- A vehicle; the market value which is based on what similar cars in the same condition are worth, as well as the average price if you were to replace that vehicle today.
We'll also provide training on the new platform and our account managers will be out on the road, and available by phone to discuss any queries you may have.
