Local governments around WA are investing in a significant number of capital works programs to help local economies recover from COVID-19.
Grants from State and Federal governments have also contributed to an increase in capital works.
These changes have affected contracts – resulting in frustration and terminations.
In some cases these changes have even triggered force majeure clauses.
Local governments also may have found they couldn’t cancel contracts that could not be performed as a result of COVID-19.
LGIS, through its risk-consulting provider Marsh Advisory, is pleased to offer contract risk training for local governments.
This training will provide attendees with basic contract knowledge, including indemnities, insurance clauses and termination to help reduce liability exposure.
