New Mental Health program arrives at LGIS

There have been some changes to the Health Services offerings at LGIS.

From July 1, a new funding allocation and new panel of service providers and services became available.

One big change was the replacement of the mindfulness and resilience tool with a mental health awareness program.

Stress is consistently in the top two self-reported medical conditions by workers in Australia.

This program has two main aims – educating workers to find the things that contribute to their stress and provide skills and tips to increase their resilience.

People with higher resilience tend to be more adaptive to change, deal better with failure and have improved mental health.

Other health services still on offer include:

  • Health assessments
  • Skin cancer screening
  • Hearing testing
  • Exercise / fitness programs
  • Healthy lifestyle programs
  • Mental Health Awareness
  • Corporate massage
  • Flu vaccinations
  • Health seminars
  • Injury prevention

Aspen Corporate Health, Health By Design, Sleepfit Solutions and Work Health Professionals join established LGIS health providers Absolute Balance, Vitality Works, Spotscreen, Work Health Professionals, HBF Health and SMG Health in providing these services.

The Job Dictionary Project also begins this month.

Job Dictionaries are helpful for organisations as they help manage employee risks throughout their life.

The suite of job dictionaries will be available to all LGIS members.
