​Over 22 local government IT professionals joined LGIS in mid-April to explore cyber security issues for the sector.

Cyber security is fast becoming a hot topic, with local government leaders and IT specialists aware that cyber criminals have targeted federal and state government authorities. The 2021 JLT Public Sector Risk Report found that local government leaders ranked cyber security as their number two risk concern.

Guest speaker Faizal Janif, Head of Cyber Consulting, Marsh Advisory Pacific provided attendees with insights on:

• Shifts in the Australian cyber threat environment
• The cyber risks questions that business leaders and IT professionals are asking
• Developing cyber risk strategies that align across the organisation
